FALL 2024 Classes
Dance with Me
Description:
For children at least 3 years of age
Little ones and an accompanying adult (parent, grandparent, other caregivers) get to explore the joy of movement and music together through games. Two 6-week sessions, one class per week. First session August 20 - September 24. Second session October 22 - November 26. Toddlers interact with each other by waving hello, singing songs, using noise makers, completing an obstacle course, and dancing to the beat of their own heart.

Creative Movement
Class Length:
One class per week, 45 Minutes
Description:
For children at least 4 years of age/Pre-K
Children will be introduced to dance through activities that focus on motor skills, musicality and self-expression. Basic ballet concepts will be introduced.
Primary
Class Length:
One class per week, 45 Minutes
Description:
For children at least 5 years of age/Kindergarten
This level expands upon Creative Movement with more ballet introduced.

Ballet 1
Class Length:
One class per week, 1 Hour
Description:
Recommended for 6 years old/First Grade
Begin refining ballet technique and skills, vocabulary, and class etiquette.

Ballet 2
Class Length:
One class per week, 1 Hour
​
Description:
Recommended for 7-8 years old
Continue refining ballet technique and skills, vocabulary, and class etiquette.
​
Ballet 3
Class Length:
One class per week, 1 Hour and 15 Minutes
Description:
Recommended for 9-10 years old
Expand understanding and mastery of ballet technique, vocabulary, class etiquette, artistry, and performance expectations.
Ballet 4-7
Description:
Continue refining and developing artistry, working towards the mastery of ballet techniques, vocabulary, class and performance expectations at each level. Students will be placed in the appropriate level by teachers/staff. Level VI students must be at least 11 years old.

Students in Level 4-7 must take two ballet technique classes per week.
Conditioning
Class Length:

Description:
Dancers are artists and athletes. Exercises in this class are catered to dancers to help them improve their technique and maintain healthy bodies.
Pointe Prep
Class Length:
1 Hour
​
Description:
This class will focus on building strength and alignment needed for pointe work. Required for students before being approved for pointe shoes. Students currently en pointe may also enroll. Note that a student enrollment in this class does not guarantee being approved for pointe shoes - it is meant to help students prepare for pointe work. Many factors are considered for pointe readiness.

Variations

Description:
Students will explore artistry and musicality through learning famous variations from classical ballets.
Modern
Class Length:
1 Hour

Description:
Students will be introduced to modern dance styles such as Horton, Limon, and Graham. Improvisational games are also used for self-expression and exploration.

Beginning - for students in Levels 2-3
Intermediate - for students in Levels 4-5
Advanced - for students in Levels 6-7
Jazz

Description:
The students will work on technique to improve power of their jumps and add multiple rotations in turns.

Boys

Description:
This class will introduce boys to ballet and conditioning for dance.
